VIZIO E43 C2 Review
The competition for the best TV manufacturer is getting tougher and tougher each passing year. For an ordinary Joe, deciding between the huge ranges of products offered by the companies can get very difficult, time consuming and cumbersome. If you are looking for a smart LED television, there are few better alternatives than one from Vizio. The company has been voted as the numero uno television company for the year of 2014 and has been solidifying its brand name as a premium one among a growing fan base, despite serious competition from other local and international manufacturers. It has introduced the E43 C2 in 2015, as a part of its successful E series.
Design – Minimalism at Its Finest
The mantra of minimalism has inspired the E43 C2’s design. The television has an all-black frame with a small Vizio logo placed on the bottom right edge. While you may find the television set a bit thicker than a few contending models from other brands, it is still slim enough overall and will look great when placed on your wall. What might impress you is the stand of the television incorporating a pair of two feet on each side instead of a base stand in center, making it a refreshing sight to behold.
While the television design is very thoughtful, the remote is not so much. There is no modern feel to the device. It is similar to most Vizio remotes. It comes in an all-black scheme like the TV and features special keys for apps like Netflix and Amazon. However, other regular buttons are not very nice with little differentiation, no backlight and poor arrangement.
UI and Display
The Vizio UI team has done its work here. The menu system is clean and very convenient. If you are new to the TV, you will be pleased with the helpful on-screen assistance for example description of items and availability of a digital manual.
The E43 C2 comes with a 43’’ screen and makes use of the IPS LCD technology, where IPS means in-plane switching. It is surprising that Vizio is using IPS technology for the 43’’ model compared to other E-series models which use VA technology. The screen itself has a of 1080 pixels, with a refresh rate of one hundred and twenty hertz. This means that the viewer will enjoy a smooth and life-like transmission no matter what content he/she is watching. There is an exceptional system of LED backlights, which are able to product a contrast ratio of five million to one, greater sharpness and incredible color balance. The television also makes use of the patented Clear Action 240 technology, which allows the user to enjoy clarity in high action and high speed scenes and games.
The most important feature of the E43 C2 is also in its display. It is the full-array dimming property, which enables the layer of LED behind the screen to dim or brighten special zones on the screen. It means that the screen can show you black blacker and bright brighter. There are a total of five active dimming zones on the model.
Sound
Since the E43 C2 is not a premium model from Vizio, it has a cut down version of the sound system found in the more expensive models. This means that the sound gets a bit fazed as you near the maximum bar. The bass of the set is also not that good. However, if you only care about loudness and not the quality of sound, the TV will satisfy you.
Smart Side
Vizio has not changed a lot from the 2014 smart TV suite in its E43 C2. If you are used to using smart applications from high end television sets, then you will be disappointed. However, if you are judging the television alone for its features, you will be satisfied. The apps include a wide range of audio and video options including Amazon, Hulu HD, Pandora, iHeartRadio. There is also a round the clock news update app in shape of Yahoo news, weather and sports services. Since the TV has a wireless system, there is no need for Roku or Chromecast.
Unfortunately, there are no fancy speech recognition, browsing facilities or other bells and whistles.
Connectivity
The E43 C2 has rear and side connection solutions like most flat screens nowadays.
Adjacent to the screen, there is an option of connecting the TV using USB or HDMI port(s). There is a single audio output (optical) port, while there is another port for analog connectivity. Behind the screen, you should find two ports for HDMI connection, an Ethernet jack and 2 analog legacy ports.
Warranty
Vizio provides a standard one year warranty for your TV set on parts and labor, from the date of purchase. The company will repair or replace any parts found defective.

Conclusion
The E43-C2 is a great television set. It maximizes your dollar without compromising on quality. The picture quality is great, features are on point and the set looks perfect mounted on the wall. It is a splendid choice for both leisure viewing or gaming purposes.
